Billboards, Radio and Local Media for Law Firms
Outdoor, transit, radio and local news placement sourced, negotiated and produced.
Broad reach media does something no performance channel can: it makes your firm the name people already know before they need an attorney. In practice areas where the decision happens in minutes, that recall is often the whole ball game.
We source the inventory, negotiate the rate, produce the creative and place the buy, and we are honest about which firms should not be doing this yet.
Outdoor and transit
Board selection is the entire buy. A board on the wrong side of a commuter route, obscured by a tree line, or on a stretch where traffic moves at seventy miles an hour is money spent on nothing. We evaluate placements on daily impressions, dwell time, approach visibility and the character of the corridor, and we go look at the location before committing.
Creative rules are unforgiving: seven words maximum, one idea, a phone number in a font readable at speed, and contrast that survives glare and rain. Digital boards allow rotation and dayparting, which we use to shift messaging by time of day where it makes sense.
Radio and podcast
Radio still reaches a commuting audience efficiently, and legal advertising performs there when the spot repeats often enough to be remembered. We buy for frequency in a defined daypart rather than scattering spots across a schedule, because a listener who hears you three times in a week remembers you and one who hears you once does not.
Local podcasts and streaming audio increasingly deliver the same effect with better targeting and lower minimums, which makes them a sensible way for a smaller firm to test audio before committing to a station schedule.
Local news and community media
Being the attorney a local station calls for comment is worth more than a paid spot in the same break. We pitch attorneys as sources on stories in their practice area, place bylined columns in local outlets, and build the relationships that make those calls happen.
Sponsorships of local events and youth sports work in the same register, particularly for firms whose clients come by word of mouth.
How we measure something that has no click
Broad reach media is measured by lift, not clicks. We baseline branded search volume, direct traffic, call volume and map pack views before the flight starts, then watch those numbers during and after it. We also run a dedicated tracking number on every placement and ask every caller how they heard about the firm, which is imperfect but still informative at volume.
We will tell you plainly that this channel needs a longer commitment and a bigger budget than digital, and that a firm without a working intake process and a converting website should fix those first.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does a law firm billboard cost?
- It varies enormously by market and placement, from a few hundred dollars a month on a secondary road in a small market to five figures monthly on a prime metro corridor. We source multiple options and negotiate the rate rather than accepting the first card rate quoted.
- Should a small firm buy a billboard?
- Usually not first. If your search presence, intake and retention are not producing yet, a board is an expensive way to be forgotten. We say so during the audit.
- How long should a flight run?
- For outdoor, a minimum of three months in one location, since recall builds with repeated exposure. For radio, a minimum of eight to twelve weeks with enough weekly frequency to register.
- Do you produce the creative?
- Yes, including board artwork, radio scripts and voiceover, and any video needed for local television or streaming placements.
